SPE Best Paper Award

TROY, Michigan (September 22nd, 2010) – Multimatic was presented the Best Paper Award at the 10th Annual Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Automotive Composites Conference and Exhibition (ACCE), which took place September 15th and 16th at Michigan State University’s Management Education Center in Troy, Michigan. The Best Paper Award was bestowed to Multimatic for submitting the three highest ranked papers in the Conference (out of a total 51 submitted).

The Award was presented to Dr. Hannes Fuchs and his co-authors Paul Deslauriers and Bryan Conrod on behalf of Multimatic during the opening ceremonies. The three highest ranked papers that won the award were:

  • Super Lap Shear Joint Structural Test-Analysis Correlation Studies (ACC Underbody) – 1st Place Tie
  • Effect of Adhesive Joint Cross-Section Parameters on the Bond-Line Read-Through Severity in Composite Automotive Body Panels Bonded at Elevated Temperatures (ACC Bond-Line Read-Through) – 1st Place Tie
  • Double Dome Structural Test-Analysis Correlation Studies (ACC Underbody) – 2nd Place

The SPE Automotive Composites Conference and Exhibition is known for showcasing the latest technologies and achievements in the composites industry. The Best Paper Award demonstrates Multimatic’s continued effort in developing new processes and applications for composites in mainstream automotive products.
