MARKHAM, Ontario (December 4, 2013) – Multimatic Motorsports’ multicar effort in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge has earned top team honours in Aston Martin Racing’s Global Challenge.
Now in its second year, the Global Challenge scores teams and drivers competing in Aston Martin Racing cars with a unique points structure counting race lengths, grid sizes, fastest laps, poles and championship standings, in addition to race finishing positions.
Multimatic Motorsports scored 753.5 points, over 178 ahead of second-placed Aston Martin Brussels, and over 268 ahead of third-placed Craft Racing of China. Multimatic Motorsports was the sole North American team in the top-five, a testament to the ranking’s truly global scope.
Scott Maxwell and Jade Buford, co-drivers of Multimatic’s #55 Aston Martin Vantage V8, placed a joint seventh among over 200 drivers ranked.
Multimatic will not be defending the 2013 Global Challenge title, as the team switches marques for next year. Further details on Multimatic Motorsports’ 2014 competition program can be expected in the coming weeks.
