Multimatic to Showcase the Radically Advanced Ford GT Mk IV at JEC World 2026
MARKHAM, ON, Canada (February 25, 2026) – Multimatic, a privately held, global enterprise supplying components, systems, and engineering services to the automotive industry, will return to showcase a comprehensive range of engineered composite capabilities at this year’s JEC World, the leading international composites show. The event will take place at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in France from March 10 to March 12, 2026.
At the center of Multimatic’s display (stand 6J100) will be the radically advanced Ford GT Mk IV, the ultimate finale for the iconic supercar. Limited to just 67 examples, the track-only special is built around a carbon fibre monocoque with an extended wheelbase, enabling an elongated long-tail composite body engineered for optimal cooling performance and aerodynamic efficiency.
“We are incredibly excited to bring the most extreme version of the legendary Ford GT to JEC World this year,” said Dan Nagel, Product Line Manager for composites at Multimatic Product Services. “The Mk IV not only showcases our diverse expertise in advanced composites, but also demonstrates the breadth of our engineering, manufacturing, and customer-support capabilities, positioning Multimatic as a world-class supplier.”
Multimatic will also showcase a new Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) shear panel developed for a high performance sportscar application. The panel enhances the vehicle’s structural integrity while providing protection from road debris and impact loads.
Multimatic’s CFRP shear panel is manufactured with a unique mold process utilizing a Tailored Fibre Placement (TFP) pre-form. Guided by Finite Element Analysis (FEA), the TFP process precisely places fibres where structure is required, optimizing load paths and material efficiency. The panels are then produced using a compression molding process, enabling highly repeatable quality with shorter cycle times.
The result is a component with a significantly higher strength‑to‑weight ratio than conventional steel and aluminum solutions. Optimized fibre orientation maximizes performance under shear loading, while the composite construction delivers superior fatigue and corrosion resistance for long‑term durability. Together, the TFP and compression molding processes also reduce material waste and overall manufacturing costs.
As the composites industry continues to push the boundaries of lightweighting, performance, and manufacturing efficiency, Multimatic remains committed to advancing the technology that enables next‑generation mobility solutions without any biases towards specific materials or processes. Multimatic invites all attendees to visit stand 6J100 to explore its latest developments and discuss how its integrated capabilities can support future vehicle programs.
