Multimatic DSSV on Winning Le Mans LMP2 and LMGTE Pro Entries

MARKHAM, Ontario (June 19th, 2014) – Multimatic extends its congratulations to Jota Sport and to AF Corse for winning the LMP2 and LMGTE Pro categories, respectively, at the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans. Both teams were equipped with Multimatic DSSV™, the damping technology of choice for over a third of this year’s Le Mans grid.

The 82nd French classic was a particularly exciting one: boasting the largest spectator turnout since 1989, the race featured intense competition throughout the field. Porsche’s pair of DSSV™-equipped 919 Hybrids charged the battle for the overall win with the marque’s first factory LeMans foray since 1998. One 919 Hybrid qualified a mere 0.357s off pole, and its sister car led the race overall for a significant amount of time.

In LMGTE-Pro, Porsche’s Team Manthey 911 RSRs were similarly equipped with Multimatic DSSV™ dampers, finishing 3rd in class to returning LMGTE-Pro winners AF Corse, who earned their second DSSV™-equipped LeMans podium. A sister car from AF Corse also took 3rd in LMGTE-Am.

All six AF Corse Ferraris were equipped with Multimatic DSSV™ dampers, as were fully half of the combined LMGTE Pro and Am entries.

As one of only two LMP2 outfits equipped with DSSV™ technology, Jota Sport’s class victory (and 5th overall) was particularly gratifying for team DSSV™.

Thanks are extended to them and to all of this year’s DSSV™-equipped starters at Le Mans, and best of luck for the remainder of the 2014 endurance racing season.
