Dynamic Suspensions' new DSSV damper can give you a competitive advantage due to a new damping technology that has previously only been available through exclusive arrangements.
DSSV provides significant performance and operational gains over conventional dampers and eliminates the use of shims commonly used in motorsports dampers. It is a pure 4-way damper featuring independent high and low speed valves for control of both bump and rebound, and includes linear indexed adjusters, matched from damper to damper to optimise the symmetry rating across each axle.
The desired damping specification is selected using Dynamic Suspensions' SpecFinderTM software. Fine-tuning is achieved through on-car adjustment of both the linear indexed high and low speed adjusters (adjustment range of 0 - 11 on each adjuster).
The external, cartridge-based configuration of the valves means they can be replaced on the damper quickly and without the need to fully disassemble, re-build and bleed the damper.
The high speed valve adjusts, in even steps, the 'blow-off' point on the damper's force vs. velocity (F-V) curve.
The selection of available high speed valve assemblies provides a wide range of F-V curve options from digressive to linear to progressive.
Dynamic Suspensions' SpecFinderTM software is a fully predictive damper model, based on the governing hydraulic equations.
It is not simply a database. It is effectively a software representation of the hardware used to construct the DSSV damper. By selecting the appropriate cartridges from the available valve library, you can visualise the resultant F-V characteristics of the damper.
Drop-down menus allow you to select both the High Speed DSSV valves for bump and rebound, as well as the actual on-car adjuster settings for all 4-off valves.
You can scan through the adjusters via the menus, or select the 'sweep' facility.
This allows you to visualise the full range of on-car adjustments, enabling you to gauge the available range for adjustment from the current setting. This is true for both the high and low speed valves, in both bump and rebound.
SpecFinderTM includes advanced graph-control features, allowing you to zoom into user-defined areas (specific velocity ranges), to look in more detail at the F-V characteristics.
SpecFinderTM integrates not only with Dynamic Suspensions DynosoftTM damper dyno software, but can also transfer data to and from MS Excel, using the 'Copy and Paste' feature.
| SpecFinderTM is effectively a software damper dyno, eliminating the need for extensive dyno testing and effectively saving both time and trouble. It is as convenient as simply working at your laptop/computer. |
SpecFinderTM features:
- Damping force prediction. Due to the analytically determinant nature of the dampers, SpecFinderTM accurately predicts the F-V characteristic across the velocity and frequency range and at all adjuster settings.
- User-friendly. SpecFinderTM is well proven in a number of applications, it is easy to determine what valve or adjustment changes are required to match an existing damper curve.
- Integrated. It also interacts with Dynamic Suspension's DynosoftTM software to either download a reference damper curve or upload actual damper results to match.
- Target damper F-V characteristics can be imported into SpecFinderTM from MS Excel simply by using the “copy and paste” feature. The resultant F-V curve can then be easily exported back into Excel, or another suitable application, directly from SpecFinderTM.

Getting the most out of any suspension damper is essential in the modern automotive arena. That's why Dynamic Suspensions damper dynamometers are a key ingredient in the success achieved by many involved in suspension development, from racing teams to road car manufacturers.
Damper Dynamometers - Mechanical and Hydraulic
Damper dynamometers actuate a damper or other item under test and measure its force response as a function of the position and velocity of the test profile. Damper testing machines may be classified in two groups: mechanical (crank/ scotch yoke driven) and servo-hydraulic. While servo-hydraulic machines are more flexible they are also more expensive and complex. Dynamic Suspensions is unique in offering both types of machines. Offering both types ensures that we are able to provide the equipment most suitable for your needs and budget.
