Congratulations to Hall of Famer Scott Maxwell

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MARKHAM, Ontario (September 27, 2014) – Over two decades, hundreds of races, thousands of laps and several championships: for Multimatic Motorsports, Scott Maxwell has been there from day one. This exemplary track record, which built on his prior success in karts and open wheel racing, is a big part of the reason Scott Maxwell was recognized on Saturday, September 27th by his peers and inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Along with Scott, six other highly influential personalities in the history of Canadian motor racing received this honour; pioneering road racer Diana Carter; motorsport developer John Magill; supportive and enthusiastic journalist Norris McDonald and modern-era racing drivers Paul Tracy and Nigel Mansell.

The event was a star-studded affair attended by numerous prior inductees, as well as former Multimatic co-drivers David Empringham and Jason Priestley. With this year’s induction, Maxwell joins such equally recognizable Canadian contemporaries as Ron Fellows, Bill Adam, Scott Goodyear, Richard Spenard and Greg Moore, as well as legendary top-level and champion drivers who’ve preceded them.

Following the ceremony, Multimatic Motorsports and friends celebrated Scott’s career-long contribution to the organization’s development within the sport, attending a private reception near Maxwell’s Mini Grid store location in Mount Pleasant.

The team moves on to Road Atlanta this week for IMSA’s season-ending Petit LeMans weekend, where Maxwell and co-driver Jade Buford will pilot one of Multimatic Motorsports’ Mustang Boss 302Rs. Maxwell and Buford currently stand fourth in GS class points in IMSA’s Continental Tires Sports Car Championship.

Multimatic wants to take this opportunity to congratulate Scott on this tremendous achievement, and looks forward to ongoing success with it’s own Hall of Famer.
