Tremor Suspension Development
Vehicle Profile
The Tremor is a high performance SUV based on the Explorer with enhanced
powertrain, suspension, and cosmetic appointments which provide improved
road going performance, power and handling, while maintaining light off-road
capability.
Chassis/Suspension Development
Multimatic conducted all chassis and suspension engineering, development and
fabrication on the Tremor. This included the integration of an Independent
Rear Suspension (IRS) assembly to a modified Explorer chassis system to achieve
the handling characteristics common to many high performance automobiles. In
combination with front and rear suspension modifications, including the use
of Dynamic Suspensions dampers throughout, Multimatic tuned the Tremor's
suspension system for optimal performance handling capabilities while
maintaining excellent ride characteristics.
