Mountain Bike Automatic Suspension Lockout Mechanism
Multimatic introduces the world's first fully automatic suspension lockout mechanism for mountain bikes.
This device automatically locks out the rear suspension of a mountain bike when the rider exerts pedaling
forces above a preset, adjustable threshold, thus providing significantly increased climbing and acceleration
efficiency.
System Features:
- The bottom bracket is mounted eccentrically in a spring loaded pivoting shell, and senses both chain tension and rider position on the bike
- The system utilizes a conventional lockout shock absorber, controlled by the chain tension sensor and mechanism
- The rear suspension system is automatically locked during climbing and rapid acceleration, and remains entirely active during coasting and downhill riding
- The lockout threshold can be adjusted to suit different rider weight and preferences
Benefits:
- No manual suspension lockout activation or deactivation required
- Eliminates unwanted suspension movement caused by reciprocating chain tension and rider movement
- Significantly increases both climbing and acceleration efficiency
- Compact and lightweight
