Newman/Haas Racing On Dynamic Suspensions Dampers For 2001

THETFORD, UK (November 1, 2000) - Newman/Haas Racing (NHR) has chosen Dynamic Suspensions as the exclusive supplier of dampers for their 2001 CART program. Additionally, Dynamic Suspensions (DS) and parent company Multimatic will be working in partnership with NHR to develop and utilize exemplary methodologies for vehicle dynamic assessment and optimisation.
"We are thrilled to be forming this partnership with Newman-Haas Racing" commented Larry Holt, Vice President of Multimatic's Engineering Services Group. "We have developed a suite of vehicle dynamics analysis and testing tools that are considered a global industry benchmark and with Newman-Haas Racing we are now working with the most technically advanced team in CART. We should be able to progress the state of the art by a significant margin in 2001."
Newman-Haas Racing has extensively tested the DS product with good results and is confident that the partnership will allow the team to realize their plans for the technical advancement of the Lola package. Christian Fittipaldi supports the change to DS dampers and new recruit Cristiano da Matta is a "Dynamic man" from his successful use of the product in Indy Lights.
Michael Guttilla, Multimatic's Director of Suspensions Systems adds: "We consider the NHR engineering group to be among the best in motorsports and their approach to vehicle dynamics assessment and optimisation is totally compatible with our own. We can learn a lot from each other through this technical collaboration, and the accumulated expertise, applied through the DS damper technology will contribute to the team's ability to win a championship in 2001."
Dynamic Suspensions already enjoys a very successful relationship with Carl Haas Auto Imports, who distribute the brand in North America. A subsidiary of Multimatic, DS is headquartered in Thetford, Norfolk, U.K. and provides vehicle development expertise to the global automotive industry. They are widely recognized as an industry leader in the development and manufacture of technologically advanced shock absorbers and damper dynamometers. DS is presently realigning its motorsports resources to focus on servicing a select group of top line racing teams in rally, sportscar, F1 and CART.
