Multimatic wins Best Technical Paper Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MARKHAM, ON (March 1, 2010) - Multimatic again demonstrated its technical expertise in applied composites research and development, when it won two prestigious awards for a technical paper presented at the 2010 American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) conference in Las Vegas.

Dr. Hannes Fuchs and Paul Deslauriers of Multimatic Engineering and co-authors from Ford Motor Co. and General Motors, won the ACMA’s Best in Track, and Overall Technical Paper Awards over 40 other technical papers presented at the conference.

The paper, The Influence of Bond Stand-Offs and Adhesive Cure Temperature on Bond-Line Read-Through Severity, details the development of a tool for quantifying the severity of bond-line read-through (BLRT) distortion in a Class "A" surface, the process variables that influence BLRT, and the development and validation of a finite element model capable of predicting the severity of BLRT before physical parts are available.

The ACMA, the world’s largest trade association representing the composites industry, commended Multimatic and its research partners for their hard work and effort in producing quality research that is both timely and educational to the composites industry.

The technical paper is available from the ACMA.
