Multimatic DSERD Wins Motorsport Technology of the Year Award

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Multimatic’s Dynamic Suspensions Energy Recovery Damper (DSERD) was named Motorsport Technology of the Year at the Professional MotorSport World Expo Awards held in Cologne, Germany on November 13th. Multimatic’s DSERD dampers convert road input energy into electricity that can be stored for later use. Having passed road car and motorsport test lab performance requirements during a three-year development program, the first application of the technology is on the Lola-Drayson B12/69EV all-electric LMP.

"Multimatic is honored to receive the Motorsport Technology of the Year award for DSERD,” said Larry Holt, VP of Multimatic Engineering. “It is a key component in Multimatic’s green technology initiative and a fundamental element in a much wider active suspension strategy. The ability to harvest road input energy is the main enabler in Multimatic’s vision of zero-power-consumption-mechatronics based vehicle suspension. Similarly to the company’s Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) technology, motorsport is being used to develop and prove the DSERD concept in anticipation of a much wider, road car application."
