Profile Hinges

The basis of a profile hinge is a hot rolled steel bar which possesses a cross section unique to the application. This profile section is cut to length and custom machined for final shape and accuracy. Components are then cleaned, plated and assembled.

Profile hinges offer an effective solution when packaging volume is limited. They are also a viable configuration for all applications when hinge offset is small (sub 35 mm). They are somewhat inefficient from both a cost and weight standpoint as structural stiffness is derived exclusively from material quantity with the geometric configuration contributing very little.
